Editorial Masthead

Meet The Kollaboration.org Editorial Team:

IMAG1331Marvin Yueh is Kollaboration.org’s Managing Editor and Lead Producer, overseeing the Kollaboration Global Editorial Team and producing digital content for the site such as the KollabCast and Green Room Series. Canadian born and SGV raised, he completed his MBA at the University of Maryland and his undergrad at UC San Diego. When not creating content he works as the Global Associate Director for the Kollaboration organization.

A freelance design & video professional, as well as a full-stack developer, John began at Kollaboration as a volunteer videographer, helping produce Kollaboration’s first web series “All it Takes is One” during the 2012 season. A true renaissance man, John’s in charge of fixing stuff on the website when it breaks.

When not helping to make our articles awesome, she works at an energy tech company in Washington D.C. After graduating from Yale, she was an instructor at Writopia Lab in New York City for 3 years before moving to our nation’s capital.

A native of West Covina, CA, she is currently completing her bachelors in Media Studies at UC Berkeley. In addition to Kollaboration, Nicole also contributes to The Culture Trip and was the 2014-15 Editor-in-Chief of {m}aganda magazine, the longest running Filipino-American literary arts publication in the nation.

She graduated from CSU East Bay where she earned her B.A. in Communication and a minor in Theatre. She’s a writer and novelist who’s currently working on her second book. In addition to writing for Kollaboration, Lauren has also had work featured on Hapa Voice, Multiracial Media, and Entropy Magazine.

A UC Berkeley Grad, she currently works professionally as a designer at a landscape design firm. When not writing features highlighting the hidden stories of the Asian American community, she designs and sells cacti and succulent terrariums known as PAEBIES.

She is a current journalism student at Emerson College and dreams of one day hosting the Daily Show (with Lily Rugo). She’s also an active member of the Kollaboration Boston team, where she serves as the team’s Marketing Director, and has her own journalism blog at lilyrugo.wordpress.com

She’s currently working on her MFA in creative writing at CSU Long Beach and in addition to writing for Kollaboration, she also writes as the Interactive Editor for ampthemag.com, a digital magazine covering the live entertainment industry.

In addition to writing about Asian American culture for Kollaboration, she also contributes to Spoon University, Politik Focus, and Radcircle.

Interested in dispelling the myth that culture only exists in the historical context, she writes about the modern culture of the Asian diaspora.

Emily Liu is our newest Associate Editor. A LA native who recently graduated from New York University with degrees in Media Communications and Chinese. She is a photographer and blogger who’s interested in producing content that breaks down the model minority myth. When she’s not creating, she’s probably busy sampling boba from around the world.
